Antique Vintage Wooden Weaving Machine Spool
Product Information I am always looking for the unique in vintage and antiques, and this antique wooden weaving machine spool, really is a unique find! It measures 9 3/4" tall x 5" diameter across each of the ends. It has a hollowed out wooden shaft in the center, and there are a few flat head metal nails on one end. There is a very nice patina to the wood, and two little indentations in the wood at one end (which is most probably where it had fit onto the weaving machine). There are metal rims around the edges of each end that are hand pounded. It most probably dates from the 1930s or earlier. A fellow vintage collector told me, that according to the book "The World of Wooden Bobbins", this spool may be a bobbin for worsted wool. This antique weaving spool would make a great addition to a collection or accent your country, cottage, primitive, folk art, or eclectic decor!
